Scarring after FUE
Folicullar Unit Extraction has hair units extracted from a specific area behind the ear relocating it to the front of the scalp where balding becomes more apparent in time. Though this procedure is quite easy and mostly complication free, it may produce scarring in the donor area and the recipient area which may or may not have any effect on successive treatments should they be deemed necessary. The scars will result due to the fact that the acquisition of the hair units involves taking plugs which contain the healthy hair units leaving a small hole or void which tends to heal in a few weeks. This period of relaxation is the critical time when the new hair and the donor area must be left to heal and recuperate avoiding harsh chemicals contained in shampoos and other hair care products as much as possible to prevent complications. Irritation due to the small wounds can result in failure or a high mortality rate of the transplanted hair units so listen and follow the physicians instructions on how to care for your new hair to prevent problems in the future.
