Pfizer researching two more Hair Growth Drugs
Pfizer Pharmaceuticals are investigating two more drugs that were initially developed for the treatment of asthma due to their smooth muscle blood vessel relaxing effects. The study is underway and they are still to establish the reason why the relaxing of blood vessels are playing an important part in hair growth drugs as with their Rogaine drug. They have observed that the hair growth patterns are increasing dramatically with Rogaine and that it does indeed relax the smooth muscle blood vessels. The compound was not suited for the said asthma but they are currently testing it on hair loss treatments with lessons learned from Rogaine. They have also announced that they have cancelled their part in the hedgehog hair treatment program due to safety reasons that were associated with the drug.
